Drawing

Drawing is a very relaxing pastime and can help to calm us in these stressful times. As Vincent Van Gogh said:

"In spite of everything I shall rise again: I will take up my pencil, which I have forsaken in my great discouragement, and I will go on with my drawing."

We are no Van Gogh but can try our hand with a variety of tools - pens, ink, pencils and a variety of surfaces. We stock many brands to help with drawing such as:

Uni-ball PIN Drawing Pens,

- Derwent Drawing and Sketching pencils,

Surfaces can be small pads of cartridge paper, larger, pieces or cotton rag paper. Our new range in from KHADI Handmade paper is made from 100% long fibred cotton rag. These are all Acid free, have a medium-rough surface and are deckle edged. These can be used for watercolour and all painting and drawing media.

Choosing what to draw can be a simple household item to a person you see in the street or objects of nature

Inks can be used to add colour or coloured pens or fibre tips:

To finish with another great saying by Cezanne:

"Pure drawing is an abstraction. Drawing and colour are not distinct, everything in nature is coloured."
